COLUMBIA HEIGHTS RESTAURANTS LOS HERMANOS AND EL CHUCHO SET TO BE THE NEXT FEATURED RESTAURANTS ON “DAMN THAT’S GOOD”
The culinary adventure of a lifetime continues today on YouTube.com/TheCSEChannel
Common Sense Entertainment’s popular adventure series Damn That’s Good visits the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington DC to review Los Hermanos and to try La Bandera, the national dish of the Dominican Republic. Host Eugene Obah then visits an old standby of his—El Chucho—to showcase some of the dishes that he would typically eat, as well as an unexpected new favorite. The episode airs today (TUESDAY OCTOBER 22) on the Common Sense Entertainment YouTube channel (YouTube.com/TheCSEChannel), of which viewers can subscribe to be the first to see the episode.
“We are midway through the season, and the response that we are seeing with the show has been rewarding to see—the clip we posted on our Shorts page on Bad Monkey’s unique take on mac and cheese on our Prime Cuts show has resonated, and I already have a few folks who want to visit The Hideaway after seeing the cornbread on the show,” said Obah, who also serves as the Vice President of Common Sense Entertainment. “We live for these reactions, and they ultimately translate to the restaurants we feature each week.”
Obah additionally issued the following statement on this week’s episode:
“On the show, we work with our surroundings—that’s an element that you will see in just about each edition—to capture the mood and energy on the days we shoot. Of all the episodes that we shot, this is probably one of stranger shows we’ve done. Not because of Los Hermanos, El Chucho or their staffs—loved ‘em—but because of the, well, not-so-good (and frankly, strange) energies of some, shall we say, characters, while we taped the initial segment in Columbia Heights. It will be evident very early in the show, and we kind of sort of make fun of that strange energy in the credits.
Yes. Always stick around for the credits on our show.
Los Hermanos and El Chucho are within a 9 minute or so walk from each other. The former is a new favorite; the latter is an old favorite that I know we had to include when we even had the idea of the show in the first place. As I had mentioned in the Prime Cuts show, while we do quite a bit of research into the restaurants, other times, some of the favorites among our team from their travels over the years make their way on the show. El Chucho is such an example—great atmosphere, great tacos, great value.
A winning combination.”
