CHARGA AND LOONASEA TO BE FEATURED IN THE "DAMN THAT’S GOOD" SEASON FINALE
Second season concludes Tuesday in Arlington, VA and Essex, MD
Damn That’s Good, Common Sense Entertainment’s hit culinary adventure series of a lifetime, wraps up the second season of shows with Host Eugene Obah’s visits to Charga Grill, which offers Pakistani cuisine along with a wide variety of others, and LoonASea, a seafood restaurant concept overlooking Hopkins Creek and Middle River from the ownership of Looney’s Pub. The season finale is set for TUESDAY NOVEMBER 19 on the Common Sense Entertainment YouTube channel (YouTube.com/TheCSEChannel).
“We have shown over the last eight weeks that there is an embarrassment of riches when it comes to amazing food, and we are so lucky that Charga and LoonASea are part of those riches we feature,” said Obah, who serves as the Vice President of Common Sense Entertainment. “On behalf of our team at CSE, I want to thank the public for their support of the show this season—we’ve received incredibly positive attention and buzz, and we’ll use all of it to propel us to a third season of shows, which we will begin to produce in the new year. And as we approach Thanksgiving and the impending holiday season, after watching this season finale, share the gift of damn good food by sharing this playlist with your fellow foodie. Makes a great (digital) stocking stuffer!”
Obah also issued the following commentary on the season finale:
“I’m a pretty simple guy.
You offer great food, and you have great people who serve said food (also doesn’t hurt to have great patrons), you get my business. I’ve always said that one of the blessings of doing this show is that there is a lot to choose from. One of the curses is that there is a lot to choose from.
So enter LoonASea, which opened this summer while we were in post-production for the second season—I monitored the updates and held out space in the finale for their opening, and I am glad that we did because, even though it is quite a hike for me, and besides the fact I wanted to time my arrival for the visuals, I have long been a fan of Looney’s upon which LoonASea is based. The owners, who I have met previously—and are highly entertaining—have gotten the formula right at their other locations, which is why they are the most complete, well-rounded experience: great food, great drinks, great people, and great atmosphere. It checks all the boxes for me, so seeing the seafood spin on it was quite an experience from the moment I entered during the summer.
Just sit in their patio and you’ll see. Trust me.
The co-executive producer of the show and other friend of mine informed me about Charga, which is also a somewhat of a hike, but as with LoonASea, completely and utterly worth the drive, so much so that I had to ever-so-slightly modify my plan for what was to be featured on camera
It was quite cold on the day we filmed the segment, but the owners are also warm and very friendly…and it’s not too far from one other restaurant you’ll briefly see in the opening minute of the show.
These places, and all of the others we’ve done throughout this season, deserve your business. Support local. All day, every day.
Not just on Small Business Saturday.”
