CAST YOUR VOTE FOR GOGI YOGI AND MAKERS UNION ON AN ALL NEW “DAMN THAT’S GOOD”
The Culinary Adventure of A Lifetime Continues on Election Day
Damn That’s Good, Common Sense Entertainment’s culinary adventure series, is set to visit all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurant Gogi Yogi in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington DC, and host Eugene Obah heads to Reston Town Center to Makers Union, which is billed as a neighborhood spot made for the people, on TUESDAY NOVEMBER 5 on the Common Sense Entertainment YouTube channel (YouTube.com/TheCSEChannel). Viewers are encouraged to subscribe to the channel to be the first to see the episode.
“No matter what side of the political spectrum you fall, I think there is bipartisan agreement that damn good food is always welcome,” said Obah, who additionally serves as Vice President, Common Sense Entertainment. “We hope that the public will enjoy these incredible gems, as well as all of the others that we have featured up to this point.”
Obah also issued this statement on this week’s episode:
“One of the things I’ll mention in the intro of the show is that I had my eye on featuring Gogi Yogi for a long time. Every time I would look at the Restaurant Week menus, I always believed that it was an incredible deal for the amount of food you get. But finally, I made it, and boy was it worth the wait.
A friend of mine years ago introduced me to the joys of Korean BBQ, and it is one of those where it is just so fun, interactive and social. I feel strongly about it—so much so that I kind of ranted about the fact that of all the places that could have replaced one of the restaurants in the student union of my alma mater, they put a national chain that is really, in many ways, glorified hospital food. Left to me, I would have put a KBBQ place there—students would definitely have a ball with it.
In last year’s debut season, we featured Puzukan, which was incredible because prior to that, I only had been to all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ places. That is an episode worth revisiting if you haven’t had the opportunity to watch the first go ‘round, and it is a restaurant worth visiting, even if it is a bit of a hike.
For Makers Union, the segment of which was taped on the day of Maryland’s primary election, the name had me at hello, and I thought it would be neat to travel the extension of the Silver Line for the show. Pro tip: go during their Happy Hour; some of the stuff you’ll see on the show is quite a steal.
And, of course, come hungry.”
