The College Conversation Continues, and this Friday, Thanksgiving In September?!
The most recent edition of Fit To Speak: From The Archives featured the second part of our conversation with Alpha Efficiency CEO Brian Dordevic, who talked about what the new workforce may look like, along with an Alpha Efficiency Academy that, if created, could rival college as it is known. Host Eugene Obah also talked with Masongo Ogora, who, since the program originally aired in 2020, graduated from UMBC and talked about his college experience in the novel coronavirus pandemic, and Eugene enumerated the various developments that occurred at the University of Maryland as a result of COVID restrictions. We were very delighted to see that the September 9th edition of the program, which featured commentary on student loan forgiveness, has paced ahead of any episode of the series in the same timeframe since airing on YouTube. Eugene issued the following statement:
“I know I sound like a broken record, but what the success of that edition shows—which also revisited the interviews I conducted with Clara Longo de Freitas and Brian Dordevic about journalism and college in the COVID era—is that compelling and timely conversation on issues of national importance, along with a dose of common sense—no pun intended—are the key to success at a time , and I am delighted to see, along with our Substack readership stats, the fruits of our labor.”
This Friday, September 23rd—the day after the official first day of fall—we revisit the first of a two-part conversation on the aftermath of the 2020 election, which originally aired on Thanksgiving 2020. Journalist, Media Entrepreneur and Cultural Creative Marcus K. Dowling, Democratic Strategist Kristen Foca, Conservative Commentator Taylor Maupin, and Common Sense Entertainment Creative Director Raheem Dawodu Jr. joined the virtual Thanksgiving table.
